You would love their large space with brick walls and unusual looking equipment. Crossfit 212 has a signature program WOD (work out of the day). Head Coach Jim McDade writes all of the programming and layers it in such a way that all workouts can be done by everyone in the class, regardless of skills and fitness level.  You can buy a membership or just pay for a single class, just make sure to contact them in advance to let them know on what fitness level you are.

Another great place to improve your physical shape is Tribeca Health and Fitness Center. One of largest gyms in the city offering  Private Group Fitness, Juice Bar and plenty of classes.
